Aahil Makhani Jeopardy Contestant Profile

Aahil Makhani is a supply chain and operations professional currently pursuing an MBA at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School as part of the Class of 2027. Originally from Karachi, Pakistan, he moved to the United States as a young child and grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. His early exposure to business came from helping his father run the family’s gas station and convenience store, where he learned customer service, inventory management, vendor coordination, and the operational flow of goods. These experiences shaped his interest in logistics, leadership, and operational efficiency, as well as his focus on empathy, integrity, and improving the lives of people around him.

Makhani earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Supply Chain Management, with a minor in French, from Auburn University in May 2021. During his time there, he was active in organizations such as the Auburn University Organizations Board, Lobby Board, Emerge at Auburn, Camp War Eagle, and Auburn Quiz Bowl. His senior year was supported by scholarships, including funding from the Material Handling Education Foundation Inc. (MHEFI), which allowed him to graduate with minimal out-of-pocket costs. He also gained national exposure as a trivia competitor, representing Auburn on NBC’s College Bowl.

He began his professional career with Target after completing a six-week internship at a 2.1 million-square-foot e-commerce fulfillment center in Savannah, Georgia. As an Operations Manager from May to November 2021, he supervised outbound operations, scheduled staff, assigned roles, monitored performance metrics, and worked to improve efficiency through data analysis and process optimization. He later worked in Atlanta as a Pricing and Inventory Analyst at Carter’s from January to July 2022 and then as a Logistics Analyst on The Home Depot’s Material Handling Equipment Strategy Team from September 2022 to July 2025. His experience across operations, pricing, inventory, and logistics reflects a broad foundation in supply chain management.

Now based in the Atlanta area, Makhani is focused on advancing his career through his MBA, where he is a Consortium Fellow and active in organizations such as the Goizueta Consulting Association, the General Management & Operations Club, and identity-focused groups including the Goizueta Pride Association and Consortium. His post-MBA goals center on consulting, with a focus on strategy and operations, and a long-term ambition to bring frontline operational insight into executive decision-making. Outside of work and academics, he has hosted trivia events around metro Atlanta, appeared on the Fox game show The 1% Club, and enjoys visiting coffee shops, exploring city neighborhoods, and building strong personal and professional relationships. He is fluent in English and Urdu, speaks French, and holds a Microsoft Office Specialist Excel 2016 Expert certification.
