Miles Tepper is a graduate student from Pacific Grove, California, who is currently enrolled in the Master of Environmental Policy & Management program at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. With a strong background in political science and international relations, Tepper is passionate about creating positive social impact through media, policy, and sustainability. His academic journey also includes a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science – International Relations, English, and Economics from Tulane University. Tepper’s professional background includes roles as the Field Director for a District Supervisor campaign in San Francisco, and he also served as the Special Assistant to the Founder and CEO of Common Sense Media, a leading nonprofit organization focused on family and children’s media. Tepper’s work has involved project management, legislative research, and external relations.

Tepper has also honed his skills in climate change policy and sustainability. As part of his Master’s program, he is currently working as a Graduate Fellow for the City of Monterey, focusing on sustainability and community development. He has also gained valuable experience as a fellow with the Climatebase Fellowship, where he contributed to research and grantwriting efforts for environmental initiatives. Tepper’s areas of interest include oceans, coastal resource management, and renewable energy, which he actively supports through various campus organizations, such as the Sustainability Council and Renewable Energy Council at Middlebury Institute.

In March 2025, Tepper competed on the popular quiz show Jeopardy! His appearance is set to air on May 26, 2025. Before his appearance on the show, Tepper shared his experience with the Jeopardy! production process, noting his excitement and nervousness before the competition. He mentioned that while he enjoyed trivia nights at local pubs, he didn’t expect to make it through the rigorous selection process. During the competition, Tepper focused on categories like baseball, world capitals, and movie trivia, and while he struggled to recall some answers under pressure, he expressed his enjoyment of the experience and encouraged others to apply.
