Shaan Mishra is an economics student at the University of Pennsylvania’s College of Arts and Sciences, where he is completing a Bachelor of Arts degree with minors in Computer Science and Survey Research & Data Analytics. Expected to graduate in May 2025, he has earned Summa Cum Laude distinction, reflecting high academic achievement. Originally from Carmel, Indiana, Mishra has described his move to Philadelphia as an opportunity to experience urban life after growing up surrounded by farmland. He has taken an active interest in both academic and extracurricular pursuits at Penn, especially within international relations and policy organizations.

Mishra has developed a well-rounded professional background through internships and leadership roles. His experience includes serving as an Associate at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Washington, D.C., beginning in October 2025. Prior to that, he worked as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst at J.P. Morgan in New York during the summer of 2024. His earlier experiences include a summer internship at the United States Senate in 2023 and a research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, where he collaborated with Professor Daniel Hopkins on public policy studies. Additionally, Mishra has worked in hospitality and food service roles at Prodigy Burger & Bar and Which Wich Superior Sandwiches during his high school years in Carmel.

Beyond his professional and academic commitments, Mishra has been deeply involved in ILMUNC, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit Model United Nations organization that hosts conferences for thousands of students annually. His tenure at ILMUNC included positions as Assistant Secretary General, Business Director, and ultimately President and Secretary General from 2023 to 2024. In these roles, he directed operations, managed large teams, and helped lead the organization’s expansion, including its international conference held in India.

Mishra has expressed a range of personal interests that complement his academic and professional life. He enjoys cooking, playing piano, and running, often mentioning how these activities balance his busy schedule.
